Went this morning to the opticien to have my contactlenses & eyes checked. My lenses have to be renewed every 6 months. So, this morning when I had to name the famous E R G T on the lighted plate, I had huge problems with my left eye. I was shocked and amazed at the same moment. My right eye was OK, left I could hardly read anything. When she checked my lens closely, she saw that it had loads of brown stains on it, ironoxide (roest). It was very durty. She said that I must be travelling a lot by rail, this thing is often seen by people near railtracks… Well, I often run along side the railroad Amsterdam – Haarlem for a short part, and always with the train on my left side… and often I’m passed by a train.
So, it appears that small iron dust from the wheels smashing with the rails are airlifted and floating through the sky. They are picked up by my eyes and normally cleared with the eyeliquid. With (soft)lenses in your eyes, they stick to it, and wil form ironoxide stains…

It made me realise that there are so many things in the air these days, where we are unware of, they will end up in our body, simply through air contact. They end up in our blood and are stored in some fital organs, like our liver for example… Hmmm.
