Erik Refner / The Body of an Afghan Refugee Boy Is Prepared for Burial, Pakistan, June

Last week the winners of the World Press Photo of the Year 2001 awards were announced. A picture of a young boy who died in a refugee camp months before the 9/11 disaster was the winner. The contrast between the old hands and the ‘clean but fragile’ young kid is amazing. The kid has such a peacefull look on his face.
