On our way back from the west coast to the east coast, we visited Bergs slussar and Vretakloster.

The famous flight of seven locks in Berg, called the Carl Johan locks, lift and lower boats a whopping 18.8 meters to and from Lake Roxen. Two more double locks, the Oscar locks and the Berg locks, are located in Berg.

Vreta Kloster
Vreta Kloster in operation from the beginning of the 12th century to 1582, was the first nunnery in Sweden, initially Benedictine and later Cistercian, and one of the oldest in Scandinavia.
