Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona is located on Plaça de Willy Brandt in Barcelona, Spain.
Located facing the sea in the Diagonal Mar area, the CCIB (Barcelona International Convention Centre) is part of Barcelona’s new technology and business district known as 22″. The Convention Centre was designed by the Catalan architect Josep Lluís Mateo and the aim was for natural light to play an important role. The Forum Auditorium, designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & DeMeuron, has become a symbol of modern Barcelona with its huge 25m-high blue triangle.
The CCIB was opened in 2004 for the Universal Culture Forum and is a modern, versatile and practical venue with 100,000m2 of floor space distributed between 38 halls of different sizes, an 11,340m2 multi-purpose hall without columns and an auditorium with 3,140 seats. Access is easy from the outside and the centre is equipped with the latest technology, it provides both organisers and private individuals with a wide range of top-quality services which can be adapted to suit the requirements of any type of event.
