Willow Springs International Motorsports Park is located in Willow Springs near Rosamond and Lancaster, California, and is about an hour north of Los Angeles. It is a historic race track, in existence more than fifty years. Construction of the track began in 1952, with the inaugural first race held on November 23, 1953. The main track is a challenging 4.0 km long road course that is unchanged from its original 1953 configuration. The interesting elevation changes and high average speeds make it a favorite of many road racing drivers.

The Upper Keys Sailing Club is located at Ocean Bay Drive on Key Largo, Florida, USA.

The Upper Keys Sailing Club was founded in 1973, and moved to its current location in 1977. Over the years, our sailing activities have increased and races are held with great frequency for large cruising class boats as well as small boats. Fleets have come and gone; in the 90s, we had large Flying Scot and Sunfish fleets; the largest fleet currently is the Hobie Wave fleet. Most racing sailors in the club enjoy racing small and big boats. They host several regattas for outside clubs during the year, including the Force Five Midwinters, a new Catboat Rendezvous, and the Buccaneers and Mutineers Dead Dogs & Tin Whistles Regatta.

In 2005, Hurricane Wilma wiped out the club’s main dock and dinghy dock. Both docks were rebuilt with lightning speed, new dock pedestals with power and water were installed, and modern gratings were used instead of regular dock planking. In the past two years, a covered patio was built on the western side of the clubhouse, more than doubling the outside space of the club, and new high impact, insulated windows were installed. New kitchen equipment has updated our cooking area, the trophy case was moved to a featured location and an additional bar/eating/meeting table was created. As one member put it, Bill Ellis as Rear Commodore did a great job of building a new place under the same roof!

Key Largo is an island in the upper Florida Keys archipelago and, at 53 km long, the largest of the Keys.

Key Largo is a popular tourist destination, and calls itself the “Diving Capital of the World” because the living coral reef a few miles offshore attracts thousands of scuba divers and sport-fishing enthusiasts.

The Plaza Mayor is located in the old center of Segovia, Spain.

The shady Plaza Mayor is the nerve centre of old Segovia, lined by an eclectic assortment of buildings, arcades and cafés and an open pavilion in its centre. It’s also the site of the catedral and the tourist office. The road connecting Plaza Mayor and the aqueduct is a pedestrian thoroughfare that locals know simply as Calle Real.

At the Plaza Mayor in Segovia, you will find the Cathedral of Segovia.

Begun in the 16th century but not finished until 1768, Segovia Cathedral is the last Gothic cathedral to be built in Spain. Fronting the historic Plaza Mayor in Segovia, it stands on the spot where Isabella I was proclaimed Queen of Castile. Affectionately called la dama de las catedrales, Segovia Cathedral has a supremely Gothic exterior combined with a surprisingly bare interior, but contains numerous treasures.

Begun in 1525, the construction of Segovia Cathedral was ordered by Charles V to replace an earlier cathedral near the Alcázar, which had been destroyed during the War of the Comuneros, a revolt against that king.

The designs for the cathedral were drawn up by the leading late-Gothicist Juan Gil de Hontañón but executed by his son Rodrigo, in whose work can be seen a transition from the Gothic to the Renaissance style. The cathedral was finally completed in 1768 and consecrated on July 16 of that year.

Segovia is located within the Iberian Peninsula, near Valladolid and the Spanish capital, Madrid.

In 1985 the old city of Segovia and its Aqueduct were declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Within the environment of the old city, stand diversity of historic buildings both civil and religious, not just catholics but also Jews, like the district that served this minority, which commemorates the different cultures in the city. One of the best examples of this cultural diversity is represented by the former synagogue, now the church of Corpus, and the Jewish cemetery located in “El Pinarillo” with its interpretation center in the most important Jewish palace of the Spanish aljamas, the chief accountant Meir Melamed, son-in-law and successor of Abraham Senior, chief rabbi of the Kingdom of Castile, Melamed after converting to Christianity under the name of Fernán Núñez Coronel, was alderman of the city and occupied important positions in the kingdom.

2013 – West 6th Street and South Spring Street in Los Angeles, USA (Google Streetview)

West 6th Street is a street in the Historic Core District in down town Los Angeles.

The Historic Core is a neighborhood in Downtown Los Angeles between Hill and Main streets on the west and east, and 3rd and 9th streets on the north and south. It overlaps with the Jewelry District on its western end and Skid Row on its eastern end.

It was the center of the city before World War II. With the general decline of downtown after World War II, and the movement of all financial institutions several blocks to the west, ending up on Figueroa Street, Flower Street, and Grand Avenue, the area suffered. In the 1950s it became the center of Latino entertainment in the city; the Million Dollar Theatre featured the biggest names in the Spanish language entertainment world. This paralleled the general white flight occurring in Downtown Los Angeles at the time, which saw Broadway become a major center for Latino life in the city.

Although prostitution and drug dealing had occurred in the area as far back as the early 1920s, they became epidemic in the 1960s. The area’s movie palaces, built between 1911 and 1931, became grindhouses. The last of them closed in the 1990s; the Orpheum Theatre recently underwent a complete restoration at a cost of several million dollars, and is now used for major movie premieres (such as “Collateral” in 2005), celebrity events (Michael Jackson’s birthday party), comedy shows (Kathy Griffin), fashion shows, concerts and plays. The developing street gang problem in Los Angeles which began to worsen at the end of the 1960s and got considerably worse in the late 1970s, also hurt traditional commercial activity the area, as it did much of downtown. While the LAPD indicates that the area is a sort of neutral zone, that has not been claimed by any single gang and meaning that random gang violence is rare, the area remains one of the major areas for street drug sales in Los Angeles.

Most of the older buildings have stores that cater to the Latino immigrant working class.
In 1999, the Los Angeles City Council passed an Adaptive Re-Use Ordinance, allowing for the conversion of old, unused office buildings to apartments or “lofts.” Developer Tom Gilmore purchased a series of century-old buildings and converted them into lofts near Main and Spring streets, a development now known as the “Old Bank District.” Other notable redevelopment projects in the Historic Core have included the Higgins Building, The Security Building, the Pacific Electric Building, The Judson, and the Subway Terminal Building. As of 2005, redevelopment projects in downtown Los Angeles have been divided about evenly between rentals and condominiums; though projects near the Staples Center arena in the South Park neighborhood have been overwhelmingly dedicated to condominiums.

S Grand Ave or South Grand Avenue is a major north-south thoroughfare in Los Angeles, California. In 2007, a $3 billion Grand Avenue Project was proposed to revive downtown Los Angeles.

Originally called Charity Street (or Calle de la Caridad in Spanish), it is located just east of Hope Street, but contrary to myth, there was never a corresponding Faith Street, representing the trinity of virtue, “Faith, Hope and Charity.” Olive Street (or Calle de Accituna in Spanish) is situated to the east of Grand Street instead. Charity Street was renamed Grand by the Los Angeles City Council on February 15, 1887.

Marlow (historically Great Marlow or Chipping Marlow) is a town and civil parish within Wycombe district in south Buckinghamshire, England. It is located on the River Thames, 6.5 km south-southwest of High Wycombe, 8 km west-northwest of Maidenhead and 53 km west of central London.

There has been a bridge over the Thames at Marlow since the reign of King Edward III. The current bridge is a suspension bridge, designed by William Tierney Clark in 1832, and was a prototype for the nearly identical but larger Széchenyi Chain Bridge across the River Danube in Budapest.

The Junior Wing of the Royal Military College, now based at Sandhurst on the border between Berkshire and Surrey, was once based at Remnantz in West Street – it was a mansion built in the early 18th century and served as the junior section of the college from 1801 until 1812. The weather vane on the building features a man firing a cannon, which possibly dates from that period. The building is now owned by the Bosley family.

The Hand & Flowers, the first gastropub to hold two Michelin stars is located on West Street. Like many local pubs, it serves the award-winning beers brewed locally in Marlow Bottom by the Rebellion Beer Company.

From the parking spot in the Elysian Park, you can get a great view on Dodgers Park and the skyline of Los Angeles.

Elysian Park is a park and adjacent neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles, California.
Encompassing Chavez Ravine where Dodger Stadium is located, Elysian Park is mostly a hillside community that is also home to the Los Angeles Police Academy.

The park itself is the second largest park in Los Angeles at 2.4 km². It is also the city’s oldest park, founded in 1886 by the Elysian Park Enabling Ordinance. It hosted the shooting and the shooting part of the modern pentathlon events for the 1932 Summer Olympics. In 1964 the Citizens Committee to Save Elysian Park was founded to prevent the City of Los Angeles from constructing the Municipal Convention Center on 250,000 m2 of park land. Parkside residents enjoy the large and fruitful avocado trees that grow in the park.

Dodger Stadium, occasionally referenced by local sportscasters with the metonym Chavez Ravine, is a stadium in Los Angeles. Located adjacent to Downtown Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium has been the home ballpark of Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers team since 1962. Dodger Stadium was constructed from 1959 to 1962 at a cost of $23 million, financed by private sources.

Dodger Stadium is currently the third oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball (behind Fenway Park in Boston and Wrigley Field in Chicago) and is, by seating capacity, the largest ballpark in the world.
The stadium hosted the 1980 MLB All-Star Game, as well as games of the 1963, 1965, 1966, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981, and 1988 World Series.

Dodger Stadium has hosted many historic events including the baseball competition of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games, mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II in 1987, and the finals of the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

California Street is a major thoroughfare in San Francisco, California. Fifty-four blocks of California Street, from Van Ness Avenue westward to 32nd Avenue, comprised the last major leg of the final 1928 alignment of the Lincoln Highway, the first road across America, leading out to the highway’s western terminus in Lincoln Park.

California Street is one of the longest streets in San Francisco, and includes a number of important landmarks. It runs in an approximately straight 8.4 km east-west line from the Financial District to Lincoln Park in the far Northwest corner of the City.

Fairmont Hotel SF

On the left side, The Fairmont Hotel San Francisco is located, a luxury hotel at 950 Mason Street, atop Nob Hill in San Francisco, California. The hotel was named after mining magnate and U.S. Senator James Graham Fair (1831-1894), by his daughters Theresa Fair Oelrichs and Virginia Fair Vanderbilt who built the hotel in his honor. The hotel was the vanguard of the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts chain. The group is now owned by Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, but all the original Fairmont hotels still keep their names.

It has been featured in many films, including Petulia and The Rock. Exterior and interior shots of the hotel were used as stand-ins for the fictional St. Gregory Hotel in the 1983 television series, Hotel.
The Fairmont San Francisco was added to the National Register of Historic Places on 17 April 2002.
